Laser hair removal has several advantages compared to other hair removal methods
- Safety. By targeting only the hair root, the laser does not damage the skin. Side effects such as allergic reactions, irritation, and redness are eliminated.
- Versatility. Laser hair removal can be used to completely remove unwanted hair from any facial or body area.
- Effectiveness. Laser hair removal is scientifically proven to be the most effective method for combating unwanted hair.
Laser hair removal also addresses a very common concern – ingrown hairs in the bikini area.
How many laser hair removal sessions are required to achieve the desired effect?
The required number of sessions varies significantly depending on the treatment area and the client’s hormonal background. To achieve optimal results, an average course of 8 laser hair removal sessions is needed with intervals of 4 to 8 weeks.
During the first 10–21 days after the procedure, it may seem that the hair continues to grow, but when gently tugged, it easily falls out without the root. This is a normal reaction indicating that the procedure was performed correctly. The first noticeable results usually become apparent after about 2–3 weeks, when hair “clusters” begin to shed. On average, the amount of hair is reduced by 30% after the procedure. Even after the first session, hair begins to become thinner and sparser.
How to care for your skin and remove hair during a course of laser hair removal?
- 2-3 days do not use heavy skincare products (oils, greasy creams), as well as deodorants and antiperspirants. After the laser hair removal procedure, limit aggressive treatments on the treated areas – avoid peels and scrubs.
- 3 days refrain from visiting the pool, engaging in vigorous exercise, and thermal exposure (sauna, hot bath, hot shower, steam room).
- 10 days avoid active sunbathing after the laser hair removal procedure.
Observance of intervals between laser hair removal sessions
Laser hair removal involves not a single session but a course that on average consists of 8 sessions. No laser device can rid the client of “excess” body hair in one go. The light energy affects only those hairs that are actively growing during treatment, so approximately 20% of all hair is removed after the first session. Over the next 10–14 days, the hairs will gradually fall out, while others will “wake up.”
With each laser hair removal session, the amount of unwanted hair will decrease, while the intervals between treatments should lengthen. The minimum pause between laser hair removal procedures is 4 weeks, and the maximum is 2 months. It is very important to observe these pauses and not interrupt the course. Otherwise, the effectiveness of laser hair removal is reduced.
A full laser hair removal course lasts about a year, but after completing all sessions, the client can forget about the need to shave or wax for a long time.
Once a year — every one and a half years, have one maintenance laser hair removal session to sustain the results — this is normal, as the body changes and new hair growth is stimulated by hormonal fluctuations.

How to prepare for laser hair removal?
Necessary
- During the procedure, the skin should be clean, free of creams and deodorants, and the hair should be short (shaved on the same day or the previous evening).
Forbidden
- Avoid active sun exposure for 10 days before the procedure, and do not use self-tanning products for 14 days prior to the procedure.
- Do not wax hair for one month before the start of the course. During the course, you may use a razor or trimmer; the key is to preserve the hair root.
- If you are using photosensitizing medications (e.g., antibiotics, retinoids), be sure to inform the specialist. After taking antibiotics, you need to wait 2 weeks before safely continuing the laser hair removal course.
Contraindications
It is prohibited to undergo a laser hair removal procedure if you have:
- Oncological diseases
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
- Tendency to keloid scarring
- Uncontrolled diabetes
- Epilepsy
- Autoimmune diseases
- Use of retinoids within 6 months prior to the procedure
- Systemic skin diseases (e.g., psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis)
